How to Clean Countertops

in 5 Easy Steps

Keeping your kitchen counters clean is essential for a tidy and hygienic cooking space. Here's a simple guide to help you maintain spotless countertops (which you can use on any counter-like surface in the house!):

1. Clear the Countertops:

  •  Remove everything, like appliances or clutter, so that you can clean the entire surface easily and effectively.

2. Wipe Away Crumbs:

  •  Use a dry cloth to dust off crumbs, brushing them into your hand or into a dustpan (so you don’t get them all over the floor!).

3. Prepare a Cleaning Solution:

  •  Mix a few drops of dish soap with warm water. This is effective for daily cleaning.

  •  You might want to use an antibacterial solution or bleach if you have cooked meat or the surfaces are really dirty, but you don’t need to do this every time!

4. Wipe Down the Surfaces:

  •  Take your clean cloth with the soapy solution on it and wipe the countertops in long swiping motions, paying attention to sticky spots or spills.

5. Rinse and Dry:

  • After cleaning, use a cloth dampened with plain water to remove any soap residue. Then, dry the surface with a clean towel to prevent streaks.
